Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Since co-founding BMC Group in 1998, Sean Allen has lead the company from a single client startup to a global provider of technology and services. Under his leadership, BMC Group has expanded internationally while maintaining its innovative culture. His engineering and process improvement background in the automotive, legal and medical industries drives the company’s efforts toward industry leading solutions. With a focus on operationalizing complex processes while increasing data security, Mr. Allen oversees the company’s technical development and business strategy. Mr. Allen received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Gonzaga University.
President of Client Services and Co-Founder
Tinamarie Feil is co-founder and the President of Client Services of BMC Group. Ms. Feil has 25 years ‘ experience directing various aspects of corporate compliance, communications, insolvency case administration, as well as the due diligence process in major merger & acquisition transactions. She currently acts as Co-Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Business Reorganizations Committee and is the Task Force Leader of IWIRC’s delegation to the United Nations Committee on International Trade Law (Working Group V, Insolvency). Ms. Feil is a frequent author and speaker. Recent publications include “Quick, or Not So Quick, Sales Under Chapter 11” March, 2012 SPECIAL REPORT: Distressed M&A And Investing of Financier Worldwide, “What About the Cloud” in Euromoney: Global Insolvency and Restructuring Review 2011/12; "Concerns Surrounding the Transmission of Personally Identifiable Information" in Financier Worldwide's Global Reference Guide: Bankruptcy & Restructuring (May 2011); and "Claims Trading Promotes Ownership Concentration” ABI Journal (Co-Authored, April 2011). She is an active member of Turnaround Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Association for Corporate Growth. In addition, Ms. Feil is committed to community service, mentoring, and physical and mental well-being. Her favorite organizations include Step Up Women's Network, Ronald McDonald House and Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center. Ms. Feil is based in New York.
Executive Vice President
Jeff Kalina has more than 18 years of experience working in companies ranging from multi-national consulting firms and publicly traded internet ventures to private entrepreneur entities. For more than 8 years, Mr. Kalina has led the creation and development of the SmartRoom service line and technology initiatives. Mr. Kalina has been able to grow the business from a one off service to a rapidly growing business unit. Prior to joining BMC Group, Mr. Kalina worked for Move Inc. as a Director of Operations Planning and M&A Transactions. Previous to employment at BMC Group Inc. and Move Inc., Mr. Kalina held various positions as an auditor and was a Manager of Assurance and Business Advisory Services for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Kalina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Vice President of Finance and Administration
Andrea Blackbird is the Vice President of Finance and Administration at BMC Group. As a Senior Executive with extensive knowledge in corporate finance, strategy, administration, and business operations, she brings over 15 years’ experience from technology, software, professional services, entertainment, and banking industries at organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 firms. At BMC Group, Ms. Blackbird plans and directs day-to-day business operations encompassing finance and accounting, human resources, payroll, general administration, risk management, banking, and contract management. Prior to BMC Group, Ms. Blackbird established The Blackbird Group, a consulting practice focused on project management, accounting, and marketing engagements for small to mid-market businesses and nonprofits. As a consultant, her engagements included The Daniel Pearl Foundation where she ran their largest program World Music Days, a global promotional campaign for tolerance, with responsibility for planning and managing all aspects of the campaign including creative strategy, program budget, project schedules, website redesign, and marketing collateral. Under her direction, the campaign’s registration grew by 55% and generated international press, with coverage in hundreds of world-wide publications and broadcasts including ABC, CNN, BBC, New York Times, Rolling Stone, NPR, and MTV. During her career she has served in a variety of roles for Accruent, a venture-backed technology company, including Financial Analyst and Manager facilitating day-to-day business operations such as administration, facilities, and employee benefits. Ms. Blackbird has also held positions as a Finance Officer at Chemical Bank (acquired by JPMorgan Chase) where she oversaw a $50M commercial real estate portfolio and as a Buyer at Macy’s. Ms. Blackbird holds a BA in International Business from Simmons College and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Senior Vice President, Information Technology Services
Mat Satuloff heads the SmartRoom technology team. From the Los Angeles office, Satuloff manages the architecture, infrastructure, product development, networking, quality assurance, implementation, support, and enhancement of SmartRoom. He has more than 20 years of software development and 15 years of technical management experience with companies including Contact Enterprises, Herbalife International and Nestle USA. Satuloff graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering.
Managing Director, Class Action
Richard Simmons joined BMC Group Class Action Services (fka Analytics Inc.) in 1990. Mr. Simmons is responsible for the management of BMC Group’s class action and mass tort consulting practice. From managing the largest class action notice campaign in United States history, to settlements involving more than 80 million class members, to administrating one of the largest product liability / mass tort settlements ever, to distributing $2.5 billion in proceeds, Mr. Simmons' expertise in the management of massive transaction related engagements is unparalleled. Mr. Simmons is one of the leading experts on the administration of class action settlements in the country, and has testified in both state and federal court processes and procedures adopted by BMC Group. Mr. Simmons' career began with managing electronic discovery supporting employment, securities, and antitrust class action litigation. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics from St. Olaf College, and has extensive graduate level training in Economics. Mr. Simmons has taught at the University of Minnesota Law School (Guest Lecturer – Economic Damage Analysis) and St. Olaf College (Antitrust Economics), and published a peer review article on securities litigation. Mr. Simmons is a current member of the American Mensa Society, was a charter member of the American Academy of Economic Experts, and was a former referee for the Journal of Legal Economics.
Director of Application Development
Mr. Murphy joined BMC Group in 2007 with over 15 years experience working in Software Development and Architecture and Project Management for Fortune 100 companies. Mr. Murphy brings a wide range of expertise utilizing latest technologies and applying scalable methodologies for software development. As Director Application Development, Mr. Murphy is responsible for integrating his process and methodology background in software development and management into BMC Group products and development lifecycle. Mr. Murphy has extensive experience of managing offshore development teams and is knowledgeable in the opportunities and challenges arising from developing software products and solutions offshore. Prior to joining BMC Group, Mr. Murphy was with SnapOn Business Solutions where he developed and managed custom software solutions at American Honda, Toyota, Ford Motor Company, Nissan and JPMP. Mr. Murphy earned his Computer Degree in Cape Town, South Africa.
Director of Operations, Asia
Michael Eco is the head of BMC Group's Asia Pacific regional business unit. Mr. Eco has over 18 years of cross-functional management experience spanning engineering & product development, quality management, sales & business development, and general management with multinational corporations. Prior to joining BMC Group, Mr. Eco spent 12 years in the automotive industry where he has led his previous organization to the coveted ISO-9002 and QS-9000 certifications as quality management representative. He actively participated and led in product engineering, product launches, and sales and market development across Asia. Mr. Eco is very much a systems and operations person having held certifications as 3rd party auditor for ISO-9000 and ISO-14000, and currently certified as a master project manager. He is also admitted as a fellow in the American Academy of Project Management. In 2000, Mr. Eco co-established GlobalMind, a boutique IT company of 12 people building static and ecommerce websites, touchscreen multimedia kiosks, and the first generation of CGI & flash interactive and non-interactive multimedia presentations. The business successfully sold at the tailend of the dotcom period. Mr. Eco holds a BS in Chemistry from the University of San Carlos, a certification in COBOL programming, and is a candidate for Masters in Business Economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific, Philippines.
